Mixed media works explore loose expression and materiality using acrylic painting, cold wax medium and drawing media. Spontaneous textures and marks combine with the challenges and risks of the abstract. Ideas are often an intuitive response within the process of making, allowing the unpredictable to come through.

Unresolved series
The works explore authentic markmaking using handmade brushes made from found materials. An experimental, gestural and individual visual language expressing unpredictability and an intuitive response. Ideas allude to moments in time existing in a kind of limbo; an uneasy tension, instability and uncertainty of not knowing how circumstances will resolve.
Making and using handmade brushes add an individual and authentic dimension to making marks. Marks are unpredictable, expressive and gestural. The brushes are uniquely created forms in their own right.
These works exhibited at Lava Glass Gallery, Taupō in Artful Minds annual group exhibition 7 October 2023 - 29 February 2024, alongside the work of Jennifer Cook-Battersby, Sally-Ann Davies, Maggie Dawson, Jacquie Goldsmith, Christine Robb, and Angela Zajonskowski.

Beyond the Surface series
Scratching the surface and delving beyond, both literally and metaphorically. The work is a gestural response to the physicality and process being worked within. Loose expression and materiality allow unpredictable discoveries to unfold, bringing expressive interpretation through layering and markmaking to a variety of media.
A joint exhibition with Jacquie Goldsmith, ceramicist and mixed media artist, the work exhibited at Taupō Museum and Art Gallery 22 February - 30 March 2020.

Topography series
This series evolved in response to a coffee and creativity challenge using a small visual diary and coffee grounds. The project became an exploration of materiality using scrunched paper, ink, gesso and encaustic wax to create a number of topographical scenarios. For final presentation, a variety of installation arrangements alluded to topographical elevations and contexts.
Work created for final year of Diploma in Art & Creativity at The Learning Connexion in 2015.
